Sleeping well in the hottest months of the year is not easy, in this post we will talk about tips for sleeping in summer. What happens in summer? The days are longer and temperatures rise, sometimes we spend an excessive heat that does not allow us to have a good rest. Staring at the ceiling of the room without being able to sleep, tossing and turning in bed until we get to sleep or waking up in the middle of the night, are situations that happen to us during the long-awaited vacations. Some tips for sleeping in summer are:

  • Napping is fine, but only for a short time, 15-20 minutes, otherwise it will disrupt the nightly sleep cycle.
  • Try to have a light and healthy dinner such as a salad or fruit. Also, if we can have dinner about 2 hours before going to sleep, all the better.
  • Phones out. All year long we are looking forward to the summer vacations but we can’t manage to disconnect completely, it is a good time to forget a bit about the smartphone and thus promote the reconciliation of sleep.
  • Do not do sports at night, as our body temperature increases.
  • Ventilate the room in the hours before going to sleep and let the bad smells go away, it will always be cooler, we can also turn on the air conditioning a little before going to bed.
  • Do not leave the air conditioner on at night, you may wake up with a sore throat or even lumbago. Nobody likes to get sick while on vacation.
  • With bed linen we should use light sheets, for example, cotton, natural fiber or silk.
