Having a large bed is just as important as buying any other piece of furniture or valuable item for our home.
Does your partner constantly disturb you when you sleep in bed? Do they pull off your sheets? Do they take up your bed space?
Sleeping and partner movement is one of the most common complaints when it comes to sleep quality. By having a larger bed, sleepers are less likely to be disturbed. If you can, buy that bed where you can lie side by side, with your arms behind your head and elbows out, always without touching. In today’s post we are going to detail 9 reasons that ASOCAMA (Spanish Bed Association) explains to us to have a bigger bed whenever you can afford it. Because a standard mattress (135 cm.) gives each person 67.5 cm of space, less than a baby in a crib! It’s a bit tight, isn’t it? An ergonomic study developed by the National Bed Federation (NBF), showed that couples sleep better in a bigger bed. Before the tests, only 15% said they would buy a bed larger than the standard bed, then 50% said they would. 3. You spend a third of your life in bed. By age 50, you will have spent 16 years on your mattress. If you’re going to spend all that time there, why take the trip to dreamland in economy class when you can go first class? 4. Because it’s not necessarily more expensive to buy a slightly larger mattress. If a mattress lasts 7 years in excellent condition, 100€ spent more, only means 0,39€ per night enjoyed. 5. Because other countries can’t be wrong! In countries such as Belgium, Greece, Holland, Iceland, Finland and Switzerland, the majority of the population sleeps on 160×200 mattresses. On the contrary, Spaniards still buy more mattresses of 135×190 cm. 6. Because we already invest in other aspects of home equipment. We spend as much as we can on the best house, vacations, car, kitchen, TV or sound system possible. So… why do we find it so hard when it comes to our rest? 7. Because you don’t want to be left behind! Although two-thirds of us still opt for the standard size, larger mattresses are becoming increasingly popular with those who have room in the bedroom to get one. 8. A person tosses and turns, on average, 60 to 70 times a night, so the more space you leave, the less you’ll disturb your partner’s rest. 9. Because once you’ve slept in a big bed, you’ll never want to go back to another one!
