Castilla-La Mancha Day – Typical Manchegan expressions

Today May 31st is celebrated the Day of Castilla-La Mancha, our company Naturalia & Poligón is located in the town of Ugena (Toledo).

We are proud to belong to this community, so in today’s post we want to show you some of the most typical expressions you will hear if you visit this land 🙂

  • Chusmear: To snack or eat something between meals.
  • Bacinear: Used as a synonym for to gossip, someone can be a gossip or bacin.
  • Pachasco: Some synonymous expressions are… “I already knew it”, “what a surprise”, “what a surprise”, “of course”.
  • Mangurrián: When we use this term we refer to a person who is not very civilized, coarse and feral.
  • Curro/a: It is a compliment synonymous with handsome.
  • Asobinao: A person who has just woken up and is still sleepy or thick in the morning.
  • Chambergo: Synonym of coat or garment.
  • Galgo: It is used to refer to those people who have a sweet tooth.
  • Puertagrillos: Generally used to define someone who is not very sane.
  • Rochero: A person who spends a lot of time on the street and does not stop at home.
